Just like many things in life, there is no one answer or "one size fits all" for security. Many major brand name security companies out there tackle many different types of security and end up only providing mediocre protection to all areas. And because so many companies lack security education, they believe that spending millions of dollars on such security software will solve all of their problems.

There is more so security that just buying Norton and installing. There are a number of companies out there that specialize in just one (or a few) aspects of security and are extremely good at it, such as email security, laptop security, etc...

It's just like buildling a computer, buying all the different parts for what you want will result in a computer that fits your specific needs. But people that still buy their computers at Costco, thinking they're getting the best deal...well let's just say they obviously don't know much about computers and will end up throwing it out soon thereafter.

Be smart with security, otherwise the hackers/scammers are bound to outsmart you.

Keep your Windows machines patched and keep your antivirus up to date. For Symantec enterprise customers, the process of upgrading those out-of-support SAVCE agents (7.x and 8.x) got simpler. There is an article available at www.sharpebusinesssolutions.com/savce_upgrade.htm describing the process.
